Why we built VirtueNest
Shoppers have started asking AI assistants what to buy. They ask ChatGPT to compare options, find the best price, or recommend a product for a specific need — and the assistant answers with real stores and real products.
But there is a catch. AI assistants can only recommend catalogs they can actually read. Most Shopify stores, through no fault of the merchant, are not readable: default settings block AI crawlers, product data is buried in theme markup, and structured data is thin or missing. The store is effectively invisible to this entire new channel.
